Winter in Scottsdale, AZ area

Looking to stay in Scottsdale, AZ area during months Jan-Mar. Have a vintage 72 AS. Notice some parks are not vintage friendly. Ant suggestions? Thanks - Jim

This may be more of a drive from Scottsdale than you want, but we've had great experiences camping at Lake Pleasant. The elevation is a bit higher, so you might want to check on that for temps, but it's far nicer and the town of Peoria is closer than one would expect.

I'm familiar with Scottsdale. There are only a few parks here. You may want to try a new (old) park called the Wheel Inn Ranch. It is formerly a mobile home park that is being emptied of its mobile homes and temporarily an RV park while it awaits redevelopment. Nothing fancy, but friendly and all kinds of rigs with easy access. If not then Mesa has lots of RV parks.

The Lost Dutchman state park in the Apache Junction area is a full serve park with hiking trails and easy access to town.

We stayed at Cave Creek Regional Park in Jan 2013 and really enjoyed it. Spotlessly clean and reasonably priced.

The only drawback, they don't have sewer hook-ups. If I go back, I'll purchase a portable sewer tote and use their dump station

Cave Creek and Lost Dutchman have 14 day stay limits, the OP is looking for a 3 month stay!

There are a number of RV parks in Mesa and Apache Junction with monthly rates. Use Allstays.com to check out what is available.

Check out McDowell regional park. A beautiful desert campground with very wide spaces and beautiful mountain views. Two week max stays but you can book a different site to extend time two weeks at a time. 40 minutes to downtown Scottsdale. 15 minutes to Fountain Hills
