I agree with your sentiments BoldAventure. On my last day at work in the rat race, a co-worker asked me if I would change my mind about leaving if I were offered more money. I replied no because I would never be able to buy back that lost time.

Remember how Jackson Browne put it in The Pretender:

"I'm going to be a happy idiot
And struggle for the legal tender
Where the ads take aim and lay their claim
To the heart and the soul of the spender
And believe in whatever may lie
In those things that money can buy
Thought true love could have been a contender
Are you there?
Say a prayer for the Pretender
Who started out so young and strong
Only to surrender"

Nope. Not me. Not you.

Very true.

The co-worker I wrote about in my blog several posts ago had his last day of work today. He had to come back to sign some paperwork for human resources and also had his "exit interview". I cannot even begin to explain to the look of sheer happiness and joy on his face. He's no longer prisoner held captive to the rat race. No more mundane meetings, conference calls, fake luncheons, fake smiles, crappy office politics, bad attitudes and spreadsheets. I cannot fathom what that must feel like, but...

I really want to feel that.

But first?'s time to set the alarm clock for tomorrow morning's rendezvous with my morning commute.

Have a great Wednesday, everyone!

- Scott.

Very nice post! Thank you! I can't imagine my life without the daydreams - nor can I imagine my life without the anticipation and dreams of the next trip. Happy New Year to all of you and safe travels!
