I believe that you're right, as I do have some recollection of that post, too, but could not find it, myself....

I lived for 25 years in Mammoth Lakes, CA which is a major ski resort in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. I would store the Airstream at a lower elevation in the winter because the snow load would be more than almost any RV could hold. When I had the Airstream at my home a few times during snow storms, I would regularly remove snow very carefully from the roof using a strong shop broom while standing on a secure step ladder (not leaning against the side of the vehicle). Make sure your ladder is absolutely secure and will not slip on the snow or ice. I would remove the snow down to about 4-8 inches of the roof line to avoid and scratches. I photographed the roof area during the summer and would review it before doing the removal. You want to be very careful not to drag the broom on the antenna, AC cover, etc and cause possible damage. The big danger you want to really avoid is having the snow turn into an "icecap" which could cause major damage. Good luck
