Adventures and Follies Begin !

We are officially on the road. Wooohoo! Moved south about 900+ miles to warmer climes. Living in & working on our baby. She needs some TLC but, that's part of the plan.
Some things went wrong. A lot more went right. We feel blessed. Had some wet wheather along the way and found out about some new leaks but nothing we can't tackle.
We'll be heading out West to the desert to avoid the worst of the winter. Then we'll see.
Right now in N.C. working and using off -time to fix up Raquel('68 Safari). Hear there's a good place for parts for my unit down here. Here's some pix from the trip.

Thanks for the encouraging words. We are working/making more gas money appear. AZ. is the goal.
Here's a pic my cousin took of our boys taking it all in as we got ready to leave ME.

N.C. is nice country. Great micro-brews too! Outlying areas of the city are kinda depressed. Same as everywhere else. Been kinda rainy since we've been here. Warmer than ME. though. Here for a lil' while longer. Been looking at routes across and possible stopping points. Excited to get rolling toward AZ. again.

Looks like a grand adventure. So happy for you!

If you are in NC, as you head south be sure to hit the coastal areas between Charleston, SC, and St. Augustine, FL.

Even in the winter, these areas are spectacular and worth exploring. (yes, we are low-country-lovers)

Safe travels,

Maggie

Thanks for the well wishes Maggie! We are going to head west from here though. We'll have to see your suggestions on another trip. Time to head toward AZ. We will miss *some* things from N.C.

TriptoAz.

Lake Dardanelle State Park in Russellville Ar. right on I-40 is a nice stop. About a 2day drive from Carolina. I stayed in Tonopah AZ while working at Palo Verde Nuclear Station last year. Nice park at Saddle Mountain RV park. Have a nice trip and adventure. Jim

We made it! 2,000 miles, snowstorms and rain, crazy truckers couldn't hold us back. My air forums stickers arrived just before we did. Bonus! 8)

Saw 7 Airstreams of varied vintage from NC to AZ. Not including parked or for sale units. Thanks for waving to the fellow streamers on I-20 in TX. We saw you!

We had a white-knuckle trip at points. As they say in aviation; any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. It's nice to be somewhere that the only snow is on top of the mountains. Thanks for the concerns/thoughts/prayers! Hope everyone is having a great '12 so far. We are getting ourselves sorted out. As far as, looking for work and all that. We'll be around here more often now that we are settled.
Peace,
Buster&Trez. (Nomadtek&Aluminomad)

Hey, sorry for slow response time. Haven't been on here as much. My wife has a blog. I'll see if she wants to post a link here.
Weather here in AZ. has been very kind. Hope everyone is 'streaming or dreamin' of 'streaming!
