It will likely never approach freezing at floor level even if you see 20 degrees outside temps early in the morning. Go up to altitude? You'll need full winterizing. http://www.airforums.com/forums/f458/

Member Leipper has taken inside temps near the floor in cold conditions and these were his conclusions.

But members with copper pipes should be very aware -- they could experience permanent damage & sweated joint breaks very early in any freezing encounter.

When we bought our '65 Caravel in 2001, the plastic flow meter in the demand water heater had a crack in it and leaked water. The PO lived in Placer county, and the trailer spent time in Lincoln, just north of Sacramento.

We have been wintering in the south, however, if we were to spend any of those cold Delta winter nights in Walnut Grove, just south of Sacramento, I would certainly spend the few minutes it takes to drain the water system.
