Will cover for 31ft Classic fit 31ft Sovereign?

I want to purchase a cover for my 78 Sovereign 31ft. There is one on Ebay for a 31 Classic. Does anyone know how close the dimensions are between the two trailers? Would the door be in approximately the same location?

I need a cover too- those look generic, so my guess is they aren't exact fit... Did you contact the seller to see if they are making them? And if so, are they making them year/model specific? I see they have a bunch of them under different model names- they even have one labeled 27' Overlander.... I thought they stopped calling it an "Overlander" a long time ago?? dont know...

If you get one (or another brand), would you mind reporting back as to how you like it? I will do same...

Good Luck!

They're basically the same dimensions. I bought one for my '86 31' Sovereign & it fit just fine (from the guy on ebay too)

I was under the belief that covers damaged Airstreams due to the friction between the cover and the aluminum. Has something changed?

How about you guys who use covers, how is it working out for you? Many of us would benefit from covering our Airstreams between trips.

I ordered one on Ebay for $179. The quality is better than expected. It fits my 31ft Sovereign fine. I don't think it will scratch. It does breath, but it has been incredibly rainy and humid. I am going to leave it on for 4 weeks and then check to see if it is causing any issues. I really think it will create fewer issues than leaving the trailer entirely uncovered. Or at least I hope so........

Forgot to mention. The two zippers are located at the front and back of the flat section of the curbside just about where the ends of the awning are. That means that the zipper is about 5 feet forward of the door, but it is not a problem to open the door to go inside.
