Where's the hot water heater switch??

64 Globetrotter. So I've been hunting for the hot water switch before I drain the tank for winter. I just can't seam to find it. I have the AC on for now as I'm doing a little work inside, so I have a space heater keeping it off freezing, But soon it will go off for the winter. Maybe I'm just blind or stupid or both

A switch? Our 67 doesn't have a switch. You just shut down the fire, turn the by-pass valve(s), and then drain it by taking out the lower plug.

I presume you have a LP/Electirc water heater?

The electric on/off switch on mine is on the backside. It looks like a small light switch I just open the cabinet and flip it off. Just follow the wires if you're not sure.

If it's LP your talking about it's the small knob that's part of the gas valve body. When you open the outer door, it's usually on the left side.

Hope this helps...Wish I had pictures.

I'll check that too. The LP has had a PO mod that's on a switch

If it's a "hot" water heater switch, then maybe it's drawing too much current. If it's merely a water heater switch, like many are, then just turn it off.
