Water Heater Bypass 2020 23FB Twin

Where is the bypass on a Globetrotter 23FB Twin? I have access to half of the water heater tank under the curbside bed but there is no bypass there. I don’t have access to the other side of water heater tank. (I didn’t see any outside compartments or anything under the dinette that provided access)

FPT, we had a FC23FB Queen and I want to say the water heater was behind a panel under the wardrobe drawers. There’s no handle - you just pull from the top edge.

I’m not sure if they moved it on the new 23’ GT but I doubt it because the outside vent would have to move.

See if you can get full access to the tank and look for a yellow bypass valve like the one in the photo below. Credit: http://airstreamdog.com/winterizing-an-airstream/

Good luck!

I was able to find it under the curbside bed. I still can’t see it but was able to reach my phone back there and take some photos. My wife and I are both fairly skinny but couldn’t reach it by hand. We’ll see if our 7 year old daughter has any luck.

So is the yellow valve the only one that needs turned to bypass? I’m used to having 3 valves?

FPT,
No more 3 valves. We only have to deal with the elusive 1 yellow one.

That’s amazing they made it that difficult to get to. There’s no panel that you can remove to get to It? Hope somebody can reach it.

It isn’t really a bypass any more, just a water heater shutoff.

FPT,
My 2020 FBT’s hot water by-pass valve is just like yours - tucked to the right of the heater with no undercloset access panel to reach it.

Maybe by laying on the bare bed board one can reach in and touch it but not with these T-Rex arms, that’s for sure.

Definitely modifying the short undercloset wood panel into a door would solve the problem.

I expected the short undercloset panel to be a hidden cabinet door because that would have been a perfect access point but no luck. I'm sure I can get down there but it's not the easiest of jobs. Thanks everyone!

Same here - access panel on 23FB Globetrotter

We have been having the same problem. We now know that the access panel to get to our boiler bypass valve is underneath the wardrobe. However, so far have not been able to open it while trying to be careful not to break it or scratch it.

We are trying something new. We went and got a "dent puller" that is essentially a big suction cup. We are thinking that may do the trick to get the panel off. And then, if it works we are going to put handles on the panel or something so that we never have to do this again.

If anyone has a better solution, we surely would like to know.
