In early June, we're heading up I-5 to Anacortes to grab the ferry to Orcas Island for a couple of days. Our preference is for shore power at a minimum. Campendiun had some great places on the way up including this unique setup on Orcas Island which we'll use as a base camp for 3 days to explore

The Sierras in NoCalifornia got snow last night. Both Hwy 50 & 80 required chains this morning to get across Echo & Donner Pass. Keep in mind that last year was our 4th year of drought which meant no snow. This year we have had normal snowfall. However, chain restrictions are usually gone by afternoon because it IS April.

Donner pass? Well, if you get hungry there, you know what to do.

About 30 min outside of Victoria, you have to stay there a few days and rent a fishing boat , and have the time of your life.

A short walk to downtown Victoria , you will not be disappointed. Try and book something close to the water side with views that go on forever. again you will not be disappointed.

I agree with lawbc and recommend westbay as a great spot virtually downtown. We live 5 minutes from Goldsream Provincial Park which is a beautiful spot 20 minutes out of the city but no hookups. Pedder bay is nice but it is about 30-40 minutes out of the city BUT probably one of the best salmon fishing spots in the world. Are you planning on heading up the Island at all?
