Just finished and working on landscape. No comercial use, just Airstream storage and our guest house. 36 X 24 with water, electric and sewer.

If you're concerned about odor, the answer is ventilation. Not venting in the pipe, but rather ventilating the garage. The simplest fix for bad odors is usually "stand upwind." So an exhaust fan (a standard bathroom exhaust fan is fine) loaded right by the dump station would not be amiss.

1+
Having built a house two years ago with 58 foot long heated garage with two 50 amp plugs and one floor "clean out" inside, one outside (for guest campers) and having met all codes, this is precisely what I did. The exhaust fan, if needed will refresh the air in about three minutes.

However, the actual oder from any of this is almost undetectable as I connect my transfer pipe immediately upon opening the dump tube.

It is my understanding all the dump stations I have seen in parks, etc., are without a trap.

Project Update

Well as sometimes happens...best made plans... Here we are almost a year later and no building. The seller informed us prior to closing that he was in the middle of a divorce and at that point we knew there would be problems.

Long story short...no land...no building. We are still looking and have our eye on a 90 x 120 storage building that also has an apartment incorporated into it. Many of the amenities suggested would be possible with this building. Our intention is to lease out space and use part of the building for trailer work. Now it is a matter of working through the process. It sure would be nice to get our trailers inside before the snow flies!

That sounds like a great space! I hope it works out for you.

Thumbs up

14x60 unsure of ceiling height, but it's high. 10 & 30 Amp hookup, no dump or water though.

$250 every two months.

cool..hope it works out...cant wait to see the end result.

I have some ideas in my mind about one day way down the road having a little house with a nice storage building on it that I can use for guests (a small loft apartment), the airstream, and a few other assorted toys

36X60 Pole Barn

Insulated, lots of lights, air compressor, ceiling fans, and my AS has a big bay for itself. Installed outlets in the ceiling to plug the lights into to make replacement easier. Also have reel electrical extension cords hanging from the ceiling. Check out garagejournal.com for lots of ideas for anything having to do with garages. Good luck

In case I have to get a bigger (longer) Airstream, I've got the room.

Having a place to work on a trailer has been wonderful. A friend of mine and I rent a 40 x 65 building for our trailers. No water but we do have all the power we want

That looks like a great space, but you need to get more trailers to fill it up!
What's upstairs?
