Summerizing

Today I got the AS cleaned up and ready for summer travel. I washed it and started the waxing process (until I ran out of energy).

I put some water in the holding tank and turned on the pump. It seemed to take awhile to pressurize the system. It went out side and heard water running. I had forgotten to close the drain valve on the water heater bypass. So I closed the valve and turned on the pump again. Still no pressure. I thought, oh no, a cracked pipe somewhere. Did I forget something during the winterizing process. I went outside again and now water was coming out of the pressure relief valve on the water heater. Closed that and guess what, the pump shut off and the system is fine. I'm happy!

Before being too critical, this was the first time I went thru the winterizing/summerizing process!

I'm happy!

We've all been thru the learning curve.

But ain't it fun to have something to learn on?

Enjoy your summer!

I always use your method. Leaving the drain open flushes out residual antirfreeze. Opening the pressure relief refills the water heater faster.

One of the joys of life is to learn. I'm afraid I'm running out of time to learn everything I would like!
