I use a marker behind the intended parking spot. And constantly change views between mirrors. (Nothing wrong with other methods). This may be a problem with not only smaller mirrors, but those which don't extend out far enough to have a decent convergence distance behind the rig (which I expect is most).

FWIW, truck drivers are paid to back up. The rest is easy (in a general sense). How to set up the turn in backing seems to take longest to learn (and can vary greatly per trailer size and wheel placement on trailer) and one learns to use markers of where one is throughout the maneuever (where the driver is located in relation to what aspect of the maneuver is underway). This is where cones or other is invaluable . . do it several days in a row. And at night. Then set some more permanent markers.

I have gotten estimates for tree trimming from 2 tree trimmers.
One step closer to an Airstream shelter.

Thanks! Was seriously thinking about renting it out to fishing folks. I have a ramp and access to the largest lake in NC. Its primitive but its mine. I use the alumacave as my office when working from home.

Thanks DBl0svn!
The neat thing is that I have a VOIP phone system so when I call clients they think I am still in my office. Works well at 7PM when I am in my Alumacave sipping a nice merlot.

Mine isn't as elegant as some as I tend to go more to the industrial side of things. Just poured a pad (100' long....30' wide @ the trailers and 26' on the lead-in...3000psi compressive strength with fiber. I'm currently working on a French drain to handle the run-off.

I have just completed the wiring for the trailer plugs. Took the standard "campground" GE box with 50/30/20 amp plugs. Removed the 50 plug and installed a second 30 amp. I ran two separate over-sized circuits for each 30 amp plug. I now can run everything full-tilt-boogey in both trailers all the time with power to spare.

I plumbed in three faucets...one for each trailer and a spare. Sewer connection is there under the grinder pump control box and now I just need to evaluate how to do my sewer hook-ups to the trailers.

My next project will be elevating the satellite dish to allow me to park closer to the building leaving room to open all the awnings without having to move anything. Also working on plumbing compressed air for easy trip prep and trailer maintenance.

I don't have any plans on building a cover for them. When I want to, I can bring them inside of my climate controlled "man cave" to work on them.

It feels so good to have Airstreams, again. I learned the hard way about trailers and trees.

Hahaha - dang!! Nice!!

Speaking of trees - now having 4 small ones remove and that massive oak tree on the rear corner - root structure was hit in digging and my tree guy said it will now be less structurally sound and die within a year - other 4 are smaller and one that has nuts - my trailer then will not be under tree cover at all

1400 more bucks though - that big oak accounts for about 1k of the bill - got 3 quotes all at this price essentially

Photos to come

Also I am excited - less leaves and possibly more grass growth back there in the next couple years for kids to play -

Hey PharmGeek, pardon my ignorance, did you acquire an Airstream yet? If so what make/model/year?
