The good advice in this forum has paid off well. After nearly four long years since putting the Sport on jackstands, doing a low pressure waterlines purge, and getting rid of anything perishable in the cabinets, we reopened the "vault" today.

She's covered with a thick layer of dirt, but no critter families have taken up residence, and there are no breeches, leaks, stains or other residue. Can't wait to get her cleaned-up and revived! Plus a new tow vehicle to try out. Can't wait to re-embrace the Airstream life.

Though we sadly missed our first scheduled rally with members of this forum, we're a few days closer to our first Airstream experience in four years.

Today the dusty Sport got off the jacks, and back on her wheels, shod with new Goodyear Marathons. (I know, I've read the many discussion threads... haven't had problems myself). That preceded wheel bearing repack and brake adjustment. Lots of cleaning and re-greasing the Hensley's bearings, ball, and linkages. Also upgraded from a Gp 24 to a Gp 27 battery, based on fellow Sport 22 owner recommendations.

Made all the right beeps when the power came back, so water and sewage checks are next.

With luck, all we have to do is hitch up, and take her to the big wash bay tomorrow.

Ah, just a few days now, and we're active 'Streamers once again!

At the wash bay....

PLENTY of h2o and a microfiber wash mitt, (not the candidate), and a nice mild car wash soap.

This may come in handy in the future.

And finally, 'Shiny the Sport' is on the road again. Took a few extra steps getting the new TV to talk to the TT (glitchy firmware, addressed by the dealer under warranty).

She still needs a full bath, but looks like all the subsystems are working. Mild southern winters were plus for the water lines.

Only minor issue to address by checking the tech forums here: the fridge doesn't seem to be cooling too well.

First tow with the diesel was smooth and easy, and I'm finally remembering to finesse, rather than cuss, when hitching with the Hensley.

Now to plan our first trip...
