RV Carport question

I am planning to buy a carport to cover my 73 AS and wonder about the clearance I will need above the A/C unit to still be able to use it under the carport(I use my AS as a guest house quite often) I have a new roof unit that Airsteam installed for me a few years ago so it's the shorter unit...my trailer is under 10 feet tall due to worn out axles I know the A/C has to have some room to work and wonder how tall I should go? for example a ten foot leg height will give a center brace height of 12'3 because of the way the roof is made...what would you say a good safe cushion above the A/C unit would be? Thanks for any info

Be sure to allow enough clearance between the top of the AC cover and any support for the roof should you choose to jack the trailer up for any tire maintenance while it is under cover. I have a large cover I keep my AS and a 24ft. enclosed car trailer under. I often pull one out and will park the other in the center which provides me plenty of room to maintain what I am working on. Living in the South and much wiser now than in my younger days, I always do my best to work on my vehicles under protection from the sun..... steve

Twelve to Fourteen feet is a good number...

I have parked my AS in a 12' height barn with a ceiling and have even been able to jack it up a bit to work on it. Fourteen is better, sixteen better yet!
