Leak report: Post your winterizing failures here

So, you thought you got everything. You were sure that the freshwater system was either drained or filled with antifreeze. You dumped the tanks, drained the water heater, put antifreeze in the traps, drank up all the soda pop and beer, and even remembered to take that jar of mushrooms inside.

Post the leaks and other failures you found this spring so that others can learn. If relevant, indicate your method of winterization last fall -- compressed air, antifreeze, gravity drain, etc.

I'll go first. I'm replacing a cracked toilet valve despite blowing the lines thoroughly with compressed air.

Gravity drain, spray handle at kitchen sink, leak after the toilet valve, was able to use valve shutoff and stopped the leak, stretched shower wand for flushing. Hopefully by year 3 of ownership I will have it figured out!

Also had a blowout on the way home first trip typing this after getting in at 2 am will inspect that damage tomorrow, hopefully don't have to replace water heater.

Toilet Sprayer Froze

I use compressed air and antifreeze. I'm not sure if I missed the sprayer or not, but when I opened up in April it had a linear crack on the front.

Previous owners forgot about the water filter under the kitchen sink. The vintage, clear container broke open.

Previous owners forgot to drain the under-sink water filter housing. The housing broke open.
