Post Help me prep for Long Term Storage

Am looking for any tips on preparing my trailer for long term storage. I'm in the Army and will deploy to Baghdad, Iraq after Christmas for at least a year.
What do I need to do other than the standard winterizing?
The trailer will stay in the post RV storage yard. Gravel & Dirt, no overhead cover, no constant shore power.

Any ideas?

Roy

After proper winterizing of the water system.
You should check tire pressure, and cover tires to protect from sun and ozone.
A good washing and walberniseing (Airstream wax) would be a top priority on my list.
Perhaps remove battery and give to a friend to keep in garage with a trickle charge on it every few months to keep it good.
Turn off all propane valves. Leave refrig doors open to prevent odor .

I will let you know when I think of more.

The guy I bought my trailer from suggests putting a dog/cat flea collar in the areas of "burners" like the stove, water heater, heater. Any place that has those gas lines/jets that spiders enjoy building cozy homes needs one. Might help, won't hurt. (I'd have to make myself a list to be certain to remove them all ) Best wishes on your deployment. LJ
