Final winterizing question

Ok, I've blown out black tank flush and water intake, filled antifreeze, WP bypassed and drained. Some extra antifreeze in traps and some in black and grey tanks. Fresh water valve drain open. Do I need to do something to protect fresh water tank and valve?

Just drain it. I assume you also opened your low point drain valves.

It should be OK if it really is empty. A little residual water in the bottom of the tank won't do any damage, because there's plenty of room for it to expand when it freezes.

Won't most of the antifreeze drain out if you open up the low point valves. I guess that would be OK. So you are using the antifreeze to just push all of the water out ?????

Or were you referring to the fresh water tank drain????

No, just open the FW tank valve and you will be good.

I am assuming that you ran the antifreeze through ALL of your pipes, including the exterior shower, the sink sprayer and toilet sprayer if so equipped. If that is true then you should open your low water valves and either drain everything out or at least make sure that you have the pink stuff at these valves. I personally would drain all the pink stuff through the low water valves. The antifreeze has displaced all of the water. It serves no purpose after that. Just my two cents.

You might want to tilt your trailer so the water that could collect in the outlet doesn't freeze. Tilt the trailer a bit so water runs away from the outlet

Opening the low point drain valves serves to get the water out of the lines so that the antifreeze is not diluted. Close them after all the water is out so that the antifreeze stays in the lines all winter. Make sure the drain traps all have antifreeze in them.

Tanks are a different story. You want them empty, with no water trapped in the drain valve. Fresh water tank drain valves open for the winter is a good thing.
