Question Courtesy parking CA?

A fellow airstreamer told me to check on this forum for courtesy or low cost parking. I need a place to park my 19' airstream for the month of August. Any ideas or help appreciated! Thanks

M, it helps to have a lot of information in your title.

Where do you need to park.

That might make it easier for forum members to take an interest in your posting.

Good luck.

Looking for courtesy parking near Monterey, California

I'm adding details to my post. I was previously asking for information about the possibility of courtesy parking. I wasn't sure exactly where in the forum I should inquire if there is such a thing. A fellow airstreamer told me he thought there was but I can't find that particular category. Anyway, I need a place to park my 19' airstream from 7/26-8/22 near Monterey Bay, California. Thanks!

Do you want to just park it somewhere or are you looking to live in it?

There is camping around the Laguna Seca race track, just a few miles inland from Monterey. Nice full hookup sites in the hills around the track.
I believe it's run by the county.

Probably not a storage spot, but nice place to stay in the area.
The spots do get booked up for any events at the track.

Cheers Richard

Try looking at storage sites. Often a mini store or U Haul will have storage for smaller RV's.

Very challenging as the last week of your parking need is during the Pebble Beach Concours and Monterey Historic Auto Races. Difficult to get around anywhere in the area, much less finding an RV Park or hotel.

I just need to park it while I have to fly somewhere. I am visiting this area but have had something come up so will fly to a family event and return to pick it up in about a month.

Two very relevant points have come up in your thread, Monterey is " a high rent district ". And Pebble Beach is happening in the time you are considering.

Is there a particular reason you want to store it there?
Can you look inland a bit to get away from the situations mentioned above.

If you park near Salinas your rig could get infused with the smell, nay the very essence of lettuce.

Cheers Richard

Give a call to the Monterey Fair Grounds. They have paved and unpaved parking. Might be a bit dusty when you return, but worth checking.

I think you bump into the rental blackout for the fair setup, but I'd call anyway. The last time we were there, the managers were Airstream lovers so you just might possibly have an edge. They may be able to help or a lead on someone else who can.

Service at Toscano RV in Los Banos might be a punt.

There is a thread that discussed RV storage in the Bay area. Might be a South Bay solution for you listed there.

Good luck with your search. Pat

I would not leave mine at the fairgrounds for almost 4 weeks unattended and Laguna Seca will likely book up.

Some have mentioned service centers and going outside of bay.

You might try reaching out to WBBCI members for courtesy parking.

PS there's a camping world halfway between the bay and San Jose.

Maybe make an appt for service there and shuttle to the airport.

My local AS dealer has storage available, one in your area might also.
