Lightbulb Chicago Winter Decisions - Pole Barns and Mice

It's a lovely fall day, but it's time to start thinking about winterization and where to store my lovely Streaming Eagle for the winter. Currently I keep her in my driveway and she could remain here for the winter, but I feel that indoor storage might be the better option.

That being said - I have a pole barn south of the city that I can put it in for the winter, but I have mice concerns since it's in farm country... so what are your favorite tips for what to do for your winterization and critter-no vacancy for your precious stream?

I throw dcon bait bars all over barn and mach. shed, put small dcon pellets in small throw away bowl several places inside AS, haven.t had any critters for many yrs. as soon as they ingest dcon they start looking for water shortly after they are dead, if inside will leave to find water.

Hi

Store it inside. I'd even do that when it's not winter if possible. If you clean out the trailer before storage (no candy bars lying around, no water....) the critters aren't going to go insane in it. Also check for damage to the structure of the trailer that might allow them in. As noted above, there are lots of things you can buy to take care of mice and other vermin. I'd grab some ant bait along with the mouse stuff ....
