Another garage

Our 30x50 garage has a 12 foot door and 14 foot walls. Its a steel building with skylights, 3 doors and is insulated. It has plenty of outlets including a 30 amp RV plug. Also has a 150000 btu heater.

Post We just did this earlier this year...

While building a new home, my Mother allowed us the luxury of a barn/garage that holds all the toys, including her motorhome and our A/S. Like others, we designed it to hold the largest 45-foot Airstream or Mandalay Class A if we ever went that direction. It was finished about two months ago and is really wonderful. It works perfectly. The 50-amp power is amazing to have (we have two spots for that). By the way, we also had a dump station put in... another luxury but why not.

Tom, and Frank

P.S. I can't get the design inserted here, but would email it to folks if they wanted it.

P.P.S. The barn is 46'x32', with 12 foot door that could be enlarged if needbe due to motorhome height. The center peak interior is 16'10" and at the walls it's 10'4.5".

My Pole Barn

I did a pole barn with a metal roof and metal roof supports that are from a portable car garage that i have made permanent.

The 4x4 posts are in concrete and the 1 1/2" round roof trusses sit inside the tops of the 4x4s and are anchored in with lag bolts.

In front is my brick pad to enter. I wanted it 'just high enough' to adaquately clear.

AS garage height

For those of you who have built separate garages for you AS, what is your height?

We went the minimalist route. The height is only 10' 8" and the length only 3' more than our current AS. This pretty much garentees we will never get a bigger one :-(
We did put in 30A service however.

Air Digs

We've finally started building the Rollertoaster its own home. As lovely as it is in all its shininess, it's great to have it away from the front entry of the house. The "hangar" is tucked back into a 3' cut on the uphill side, and off the driveway just enough to be fairly low-profile. I'm relieved because I was dreading putting another building on the property. (I've already ordered the climbing roses to cover it with..)
Dimensions are 15'Wx30Lx14'H, and the double doors will be 12'Wx10'H. It has a cat-walk on the ceiling joists above the trailer, a door adjacent to the A/S door, and vents at both ends in the gable and a couple of low vents on eacht side. Also wired for 30 amp. electrical service.
Progress so far:

Janet,
Nice to see things are coming along for the rollertoaster place.
I have starting thinking about mine. She will be 80X60. Room for two airplanes, two airstreams, a truck, a tractor and a car. Oh yeah a large apartment. Can't wait!
