Another Cover Question

I am putting quite a few new exterior skin panels on my 1952 Silver Streak Clipper. No plasticity here. Need a cover for the Oregon rains and security. Up to now it has been the Harbor Freight HD plastic ones. Now I am looking into the cloth type fitted covers. Am getting a sample of the cloth to try on scrap 2024 Alclad. Anyone used this style on raw aluminum? I have seen the gory pictures of ropes and cheap tarps. Really scary.
Thanks,
Robert
