What's this?

Could someone please tell me what the round object on my trailer's tongue is? It is located in front of the break away switch and is attached to the switch bracket.

Yep, that IS what it is. It is just the base of the level unit.
Our trailer had one too. It rusted and fell off. It was not as well cared for as yours. Obviously yours got painted!
I don't know where you can get a new top for it. Sorry!
If you are really interested in restoration, we will be at Jackson Center sometime this week and we can check it out.

I have one on our Overlander. It is made by Reese, and has a round housing, with a left-right level, and a fore-aft level. The thing also comes with a clear plastic cover, so it doesn't get wet or smashed. One photo has the cover, in the other it has been removed to easily view the levels.
