Using Andersen Levelers
We bought a 2010 23' flying cloud. 2 axels, tires about 4 - 5 " apart. We used the red 4" andersen levelers on our old trailer (keystone bullet) but the tires we about a foot apart. They're very convienent..you just put them under the tire and pull the trailer onthem to the level you need. It looks like i can put a leveler between the tires but its pretty snug. Does anyone use these levelers or would you recommend something else?

If you are on a site that would require the use of 2 levelers you could cut an inch or 2 off the leading edge on the one that goes between the axles.
I have 16 inch wheels and LT225 tires on my trailer and can fit a stock leveler in there with a kick.

They should work snug but fine without cutting. If not, this guide from Anderson will show you how to cut if necessary. You can cut off up to 4 inches. http://www.andersenhitches.com/uploa...%20details.pdf

I cut three inches off of one after it jammed up a couple of times. Fixed the problem.

We have not had any issues with the Andersons yet nor have we had to trim them.

I am pretty sure they do fit but I keep ours in one of the side storage areas.

Having had the floor fall out of the bumper storage without that kind of weight in it I would not suggest it unless you check the condition and number of rivets holding the floor in place.
I had a gallon of motor oil and my sewer hose in there.

I you are solo how easy are these to use? Do you just put the tow vehicle in park then walk back to put the chock under each leveler?
My Lynx levelers take up a lot of space as I have two sets.
What about when you have to remove them. Seems you have to be careful not to run over the big end. You'd have to back up a bit to take the tire off the chock and could go off the big end. Hard to judge when solo how far to move. Worried about tire damage.

I would not use Park because there is free play in the drive train and the rig will roll against that changing the level setting.
Use the Emergency Brake.

They're easy to use solo, I've done it a few times now. I have one of those large levelers I can see in the rear view however. Once they are placed, just back up onto them.

The video by Airstream nerds shows the addition of 3M 2" Outdoor Tape to the levelers I expect to improve traction when pulling onto the levelers. Has anyone found this a necessary add on or are they sufficient as delivered?

90% of the time solo with the Andersens. Electronic LevelUp mounts to a small 3m Lock loop on the the bottom of the front window. Get full aligned, identify low side, position the Andersens, slowly pull forward until the LevelUp turns green. Set the parking brake (as mentioned just putting in park usually results in some roll).
Put the secondary blocks under the back side of the Andersens. I then use BAL X-chocks on both sides, lower the jack and start the unhitch process. Prior to releasing the ProPride locks I slip the truck into neutral, hold the brake and release the parking brake. Then into park. This is to release any tension in the ProPride and I finish unhitching.
Total time usually about 15 minutes solo start to end, whether hooking up or unhitching. Faster with the wife since she can position and remove the Andersens so I don't have to run back and forth.
Love them. Sitting on them in Scottsbluff NE as I write this.
Opps that didn't read correctly. The 'trailer' is sitting on them and I am on my couch....

It was too tight on my 25' so I returned them. Even if I could get them to work they could jamb between the wheels when pulling off. This made me uneasy to try them solo- I'd want someone watching to prevent damage to something.
They were also pretty narrow and sank into the ground.
I like the idea of them but it just didn't work for me. YMMV.

Mine have slipped forward about a half inch or so every time I use them. I wonder what I'm doing wrong or how I can increase the friction between the chalk and the curved bit.

Tire slipping is why I decided to use the grip tape. I have only had the tires slip on the plastic not the plastic on the ground. Even if they slide a small bit on the ground I don't see a problem because once the AS is on them the weight keeps them from moving.
I can see Wayne&Sam's point regarding solo use - it takes a little patience and getting in and out a couple times but they fit fine between the tires on my 25' and I have not trimmed them. According to manufacturer you can cut a couple inches off of the ends if you think they are too long without screwing them up.

I watched the Official Andersen youtube and saw no mention of tape applied to the leveler.
There is no need for "traction" between the tire and the leveler. Traction is a mean of defining the interaction between two surfaces that are moving against each other, ie tire to ground. There is no movement between the leveler and the tire or the leveler and the ground.
The only thing I can imagine might be if you are on soft ground the chock might have a tendency to fly out from under the leveler as it is pushed into the ground. Is that the surfaces they mention in the video?
