Tire Changing Aids

saw somewhere that there is a yellow plastic ramp that you drive a wheel on and it lifts the flat tire [dual axel] off the ground . don't really know the name but think its called [ easylift]
has anyone used one ? in my case 16 in. rims and wheels/and how good is it and do you recommend using one?
2015 27ft. internation sig. with 16in tires.

Google "Camco Trailer Aid"
Walmart has them also Camping World and I would think most RV/Trailer sales.

I didn't see the full TV details but if it's 3/4 or a 1 ton you most likely have a seriously good Jack that came with your truck. Take a look.

I should have been more explicit.
I meant the trailer aid used for changing a tire on the airstream. Has anybody used one and how did it work? Where did you purchase it and how much?

Nope, understood clearly. I have on from previous owner. I did use it one time. Just offering an alternative tool that you already have at hand.

I own a pair of these screw jacks from 1 ton pickups. Last weekend I had both sides up, 4 tires removed, bled brakes and rotated the tires. And my AS is over 9,000 lbs dry and empty.

Trailer Aid Plus

I got the Trailer Aid Plus on Amazon. It's still in the box, haven't used it, hope I never have to in an emergency. But it's there, just in case.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o09_s00

There's some pictures and a video at the above link.

As stated trailer aide. Ours is yellow. Never had to use it in a tire emergency, but the tire dealer used it to take off the 15" we had on our old 30' and put on the new 16". There are only a few places that one can safely jack up an AS using a bottle jack etc. so the dealer said he would use the ramp. Worked great.

We have the Trailer Aide (not the Plus) and I used it to take off all the original tires and put on new Sendel wheels and 16" Michelins. Very easy and safe to use.

I have used the Trailer Aide on my horse trailer and it works great. I have heard of folks using their lynx leveling blocks on one axle as well basically doing the same as the Trailer Aide.

I have the traileraide too. Not only do I use it when I change tires but I insist that my tire guy use it whenever he needs to raise a tire (such as when checking the brakes). Much safer for the rig not to depend on proper placement of a jack.

The benefit of the plastic ramp is light weight. I used a piece of 2x8 left in my shop to make a 3 layer ramp ($0 out-of-pocket). It works just as well but weighs considerably more. I leave it in the bed of my truck. You can build the same ramp with the six of the 'lego' blocks if you have them. A jack works too but I would rather use the ramp approach.

There may be some advantage to the type you describe, but I have always used the
Lynx Levellers for the same purpose and they work fine.

What I like about them is that they can also be used as pads for the stabilizers / tongue jack, or under the wheels of one side of the trailer in the event of an uneven site.

In fact I guess that is their primary purpose - but nice to have something that can serve for several tasks.

Highly recommended
