Stabilizer (BAL) jack --loose nuts?

I guess the LockTite got tired; the nut comes off my driver's side rear jack again.....they all did it before. The nuts screw off when I screw them up.

What is the best fix? Double nut? not certain I have room enough for two nuts.......

My last episode was this a.m. leaving Rancheros RV Park in Santa Fe; now in Holbrook and am not looking forward to tomorrow a.m.--except we are returning to Oro Valley.

it's rather simple, if you are on ashpalt or concrete and it's dry, the dang things won't come off. If it's raining and muddy grass or sand/gravel they will come off even if you have tack welded the nuts on......

Wasafari, you are correct; in spring 2003 went to GA...rained from San Antonio on....the nuts had a ball. I was in the mud every a.m. ended up unstabilized

Lock nuts won't work; the screw drive has to rotate.

Loose nuts

I bought new ones after the first fell off (vintage 1985), and haven't had a problem since.

If there is room at the end of the shaft, you can drill a hole through it, and use a castle nut and cotter pin, like a wheel bearing. If not, maybe you could drill through the nut and bolt, and put a roll pin through them.
