Stabilize non-camping stops

Planning on short stops each night in 19’ trailer.
Do y’all lower the tongue jack and stabilizer jacks for better sleep (not disconnected from truck)?

Tongue jack only if it’s not windy. If it’s a bit windy, the stabilizers get used. It all depends on wife, as she tends to be more motion sensitive than I am. We usually stay hooked up when on the move, unhitch at final destination if we need to use the truck.

Tend to use KOA pull- through sites underway...

If I’m just staying for the night and the trailer is anywhere close to level I set the parking brake and call it good.
If wind caused too much wiggling I’d put the stabilizers down and leave the cordless drill on the driver’s seat so I don’t forget them.

Since I travel solo I have never put the stabilizer jacks down. I guess whatever wiggling the trailer does doesn't bother me. Maybe 20 years of boating has me used to some movement.
On a overnight stop, I'd leave it hitched and jacks up.

We use the tongue jack to level the trailer front to back.

I almost never use the stabilizers even when camping at the destination. Have used the tongue jack for level when hooked up. Worry about forgetting it. Put a leveling block on the steering wheel as a reminder but still worry when the jack is down.

I've been using a checklist, and multiple (at least three) consisting of high, middle, and low walk-arounds prior to getting under way.

Hopefully that gets all the possibilities from TV antenna, awning, utilities, and stabilizers/jacks.

Usually the scraping noises are the very last clue....haven't had that yet. I do remember my tire locks were left in place one time--hitting the gas (gently) resulted in absolutely no movement...(sigh).

We have spent a lot of nights at Wal-Marts. We sometime level side-to-side with Legos and front-to-back with the tongue jack. I don't think that we have ever used the stabilizers on a quick overnight stop.

Great idea!
My cargo trailer once left a trench in the yard when I forgot to raise the jacks.

Only if we plan adult-games.... (don't want to distract the neighbors.)

It's sorta like using Vaseline during s e x .... put it on the doorknob.....

.....(Keeps the children out.)

Yes - unless it's a rest area type stop for a nap or a meal where we just pull in and park in a safe location.

An over night stop gets leveling close, but usually not perfect. Tongue jack down to level front to back. No unhitch. Stabilizers down. Chocks on the wheels. No - a Walmart stop would be as above.

A multi-day stop gets side to side level as close as possible with any variance to a head high bed configuration. Tongue jack down to level front to back. Chocks on the wheels. Unhitch. Stabilizers down and on pads if not concrete site.

Let your preference and logic lead your path. Pat

Tongue jack down, WD bars loose, level side to side (close) and front to back (close), wheel chocks. No stabilizer jacks.

We always level with the jack and then drop the stabilizers. It is our routine and it is the same if we un-hitch or not

Also, with a cordless drill it takes seconds, usually I have not even opened my beer as i walk around deploying them...

I have never used any thing in over 55 yrs. of AS travel and several sob before AS. I don't want to pick up as have been in snow storm when sleeping, have rains also come when sleeping, don't feel like getting wet or sloshing in snow. I have never had issues rocking or any thing else by not using stabilizers or tongue jack. Also if some thing happened that caused immediate departure nothing to forget and loss of time to get out.
