Scissor jacks/unhitching

Howdy FriendsI've got a 2003 International, 22',CCD. Have been using jack stands to keep the AS up when its unhitched from the TV. I am new at this. These stands are a pain to set up, are heavy to move around for my old back. I noticed I am the only one using these in a campground, (Duh!). Now have discovered "scissor jacks". Is this a good way to go? How best to install them, bolted on or solder on the tongue ? These would appear to be the way to go when unhitching the AS at a campground and you want to drive around and explore local area. This would make the camping experiece much better and easier on my back. Anyother ideas out there? Thanks, Jim

Most travel trailers have tongue jacks that are lowered to lift the tongue off the trailer ball. It should be located directly behind the spot the ball goes, and just ahead of the LP tanks.

Mmmm? You don't have BAL jacks? I know these 22' CCDs were trial trailers -- one-piece chipboard floors, some didn't even have bellywrap (instead having a membrane between the frame and the floors).

The BAL jacks most AS owners expect are not the normal ones available at local RV dealers -- AS trailers require longer shafts to get past the curve at the belly-side junction. I'd think an Airstream dealer could install them in very little time.
