Power Jack only goes up!
This jack is the regular Barker jack and not the Super Jack. It worked fine when I delivered the unit to JC for some new segments and had them do the 27 point inspection. I picked up the unit last Wednesday on a really nasty day. The jack lifted the tongue nicely, but balked at lowering it. After a couple of attempts pushing the toggle switch down, it seemed to "catch" and worked fine for the rest of the hitching sequence.
Today, I decided to disconnect in order to get the free breakfast buffett at the Vicksburg, MS Ameristar. I jacked the tongue up while still attached to the truck and released the spring bars, then pressed the toggle down and nothing happened. I ended up attaching a 7/16ths socket to the 18v drill and lowered the tongue manually. We did make to the buffett, but just barely.
I faintly recall installing one of these on my SOB and there was something about a limiter switch. I don't have the documentation with me, and the Barker website offers only part schematics and no details. I do know that they greased the gears at JC, which I believe requires removing the head.
Any Ideas out there on how to get this to working?
