placement of jack

I've been looking and have now lost patience - I believe I've seen it some place before. Can someone please tell me where the thread is about proper placement of the jack while doing a bearing repack? (and can I assume for fixing a flat it would be the same location?)

Thanx,

suz

Hi Suz

There are quite a few threads on the subject but THIS may be the one you're looking for.

Did you guys move? I thought you were in Saginaw Twp.

Sue ,on both my "71" &my "74" Tradewinds there is a square patch about 3" sq that is just behind the rear wheels ,if I recall there is an arrow on it . That is jacking location. But I follow what the manual says to for changeing a flat , just place some blocks in front of or behind the wheel, depending which axle your doing and pull the trailer up on the blocks ,lifting the adjacent tire and axle high enough to get the tire and wheel off . This is an easy,Safe ,way of doing it .

Suz, what I do is just copy and paste the text I want to keep to Wordpad or Notepad and print from there.
When is the Mackinaw rally? One of my brothers lives about halfway between here and there and it might be a fun trip to plan.

Make sure tire shop puts jack in right place

I had a tire failure on the road last Fall. I found a tire shop that had a new tire but the installer put his jack right under the belly pan that covers my black water tank. I was in the shop office and didn't see him put it there. When I went out to check on the installation the belly pan had crushed in.
I had the installer make a note of the damage on the bill and told him that if I had a leak I would expect them to pay for it. I have not noticed a leak but there could be some damage that I cannot see.
