Red face OEM Jack

Motor spins jack doesn't! Found a gear stripped for about an inch in the head. Any posibility of a replacement gear or just replace jack with a new one? Wife refuses to lift trailer while I level!!!

Hi there! Would love to help but you didn't list which power jack you have. During different model years a few different jacks were used and this model year there are actully two jacks being installed on AS.

Post the info and I know someone will be able to help.

Thanks Rick, unfortunately the lable is gone and it can't be read. The only description is that their are two fiber gears in the top housing and the housing is joined by four cap screws. The one gear I need is the smaller one. It is driven by the motor shaft. May be I can pix.

Had a similar problem. I caused it by manually moving (hand cranking) the jackpost up & down in winter with the battery removed. In the spring I installed the batteries and it worked for a while. But it was unsynchronized or “out of timing” and I didn’t know it. Then one day it went up too far, jammed and stripped the gears. I returned it to H&H of Barker Mfg. and they fixed it under warranty. Even though it was my fault. Lesson learned: WARNING, If the head is removed from the post both the head unit and the jackpost must be re-synchronized. The vendor or manual has the procedure.
Maybe that is your situation. If you have the H&H jack, they will sell you the fiber gears for about $25.
Good Luck.

niftypkg -- On the blue menu bar 2nd from the top, upper left you will see User CP (control panel). Please go in there and select 'Edit Profile.' You do not have to enter VIN but it would be most helpful if you would select a trailer year and model. It helps us understand where your question is coming from. Thank you --- and welcome to the Forums!

sounds like it was brought up too high . and stripped the gears.it seems like a few others have done it here. just stop 1 in. from the top.you make your wife lift the tounge while you level it? Sure hope she does'nt hear from other wifes. you'd be having a big knot on your head.
