The original, and two replacements all shorted out. Blown fuse. I found moisture/water was getting in through the level on top of jack. I now keep the jack covered with bag I got from Amazon.
As for the tool for manual operation, I got a 12 inch extension and use it in conjunction with tool supplied. No longer does the LP tank cover get in way.

Take the several screws that hold the cover on and check that the wires have not come off their clips. Happened to me the day I brought the trailer home from the dealer. Simple fix.

I bought a spare handle from Dyers. Mine was a Barker jack. Link is: http://www.dyersonline.com/barker-hi...nk-handle.html

I add an standard socket extension so I can avoid the propane tanks.

When I went to buy a crank for our Atwood 4000 jack, I purchased an “off the shelf” crank from Camping Hell. The diameter of the drive end was slightly too large to fit into the opening. I subsequently purchased a socket that had a smaller diameter that fit into the opening. If you purchase a genuine Atwood crank, there will likely be no problem. But be careful if purchasing a generic slotted head crank, and test it before driving off into no mans land to drycamp.

My Attwood 4000 (2017) came with a handle. It was in a cardboard box in the closet.
The bad news was when I needed it, I couldn't budge the jack with it. Up, yes; down, no.
You might try taking the weight off your jack using the TV jack and see if that allows it to work again.

My handle was a small square end on a crank.

I just got done spending a couple of nights on the internet looking for a replacement for the original Atwood crank tool to no avail. I found one that is close but is a little bit larger in diameter. I am going to go to our Airstream to see if this crank handle will work. It is slightly wider in both the interior and exterior diameter than the socket tool that Airstream supplied with our 2017 25' FC.

A6E23032 23032 BAL RV Products/ Adnik Trailer Stabilizer Jack Stand Crank For $10.54 x 1

Got it from rvautoparts.com

If it mechanically will work with the jack's drive shaft then I may have to open up the plastic cover's access port to make it fit.

I will post my results on Friday.

Sadly the crank in my previous post is just a bit too big to fit into the metal drive shaft within the tongue jack. I will look into milling out an adapter so the hand crank will work with the socket provided by Airstream.

Was it a socket that requires a wrench or was it a hand crank? I'd love to be able to buy one like Atwood previously had sold instead of having to build one up myself.

Power jack hand crank

AIRSTREAM P# 400961-02-100 is the hand crank with the socket welded on the end. PM me with your e mail address and I'll send you a picture. My AS dealer had to order the part. He received it in about a week. So it must be an AS stock item.

Hoping to be able to purchase a crank like TANZER099 was able to. Meanwhile I took apart a broken down drill and cut off its chuck and mounted it onto the BAL hand crank that was too big to fit on to the jack. Looks like it should work - I'll give it a test next visit to the Airstream.
