Up front... it is your Airstream. Let the next owner worry about it. Nah... nobody dies that!

I increased down angle and weight carry rating in our new axes. I got the lift I expected with less stress.. pardon the pun.

If the axles are mounted to a single structural unit which encapsulates the frame... that might be fine... the axles may act as a “trolley” of sorts. To make that work you steer the trolley with a lead or put it on tracks. So the former is the only option for our trailers. That means the frame is the lead, just like from the factory.

When you extend the arm of moment, loads quickly amplify. We all agree.

However, Dexter doesn’t recommend 3 of their duratorque axles in one trailer... perhaps the manufacturer transferred the risk to the Airstream folks.

If I were to lift, I would build a truck like a train car but no pivot. The mounting can and should be discussed of course.
