Lifting a 74 31' Excella

I have just bought a 74 31 Excella in great condition. I bought it to put on my property in Eastern Wa until I get my cabin built. The road up to the property is a non maintained forest road with some rough spots and 6 switchbacks to negotiate. I have 16 inches from the bottom of the wheel well to the ground and will most likely need an additional 4"-6". Has anyone ever lifted an Airstream of this size.
With the additional lift I will need to install a cross member for more stability. Can the torsion arm be adjusted to gain any lift.
