Large Bal-Jack Feet

I was thinking while we were in FL for two weeks why I can't put some larger foot pads on my bal-jacks. This would save my knees from having to get down there and put a lego block under the bal-jack foot pad. Why not put about a 10inch square foot pad on the bal-jack?

BAL has a metal footpad for their jacks, about 7 or 8" diameter. Have you tried that one. Mine have always worked well.

I think I can make something a lot cheaper than that.

Large Bal-Jack Feet

The pads on mine were $30 for a set of four with shipping. I would lose money attempting to make my own.

I have the Model 20031.

My knees do not allow me to get down on them.

If I need a lego under the jack plate, I use the awning rod (you know that little rod that you reach up with to pull the awning down) to slide the lego to where it needs to be.

Then I use my little Sears cordless drill to power the jack down. It takes less than a minute or so to do each jack.

I went to HD...there is a 'scrap bin' and in there were "pieces" of plywood, 1'x4'... I cut into nearly square pieces and toss under the 'BAL' feet on squishy ground. Works easy....

I will post back when I finish with the design. I would also like to attach some hydraulic jacks between the wheels to stabilize the center of the trailer. These jacks make the wife happy when I get up to pee in the middle of the night. They would need to fold up out of the way. These will take more thought.
