Wood for a jack stand does not properly ground the trailer. If there is a reverse wire on the campground post you can end up with a hot trailer. This has happened a number of times and that is why WBCCI wants you to properly ground your trailer or use a metal jack stand in the Internationals.

Do the 4 metal stabilizers not ground the trailer?
Doesn't everyone carry an electrical tester in their tool kit to test the post before trusting it with their beloved Airstream?

A tongue jack is not a electrical ground.
Unless it happens to be set in a bed of grounding electrolyte, in damp soil.
