Jack Height to remove wheel

How high does a jack have to go to get one side of the trailer off the ground to change a tire? I will be towing a 31' 1979 Airstream this weekend and I want to be prepared.

With the torsion axles which you have on that trailer, it is best to drive the good wheel upon blocks to raise the flat one. About a six inch ramp will work. Jacking the trailer up is not recommended because of the possibility of putting the jack in the wrong place.

That's a good idea. So just roll that side of the trailer up on blocks till the good wheel is on them??? This will give me enough lift to change the flat?

I carry these in the trailer. They are great when the ground is not level. You can get them at wally world for around $25.

That is what I did when I repacked the wheel bearings.

works great...unless you have a single axle trailer

although we have similar bricks and they do work great for leveling.
