Hydraulic jack size?

I purchased a 2014 19ft flying cloud and need to know what size hydraulic jack I need for changing a tire? Walmart has a 2 ton and a 6 ton. Never owed a RV before. Thanks for any help!

A 6 ton would be better. Not because the trailer weighs that much, but because the shaft diameter and base are larger, for more stability.

The 2 ton will do anything you need with the Airstream. But that said you might just carry the 6 ton for the unexpected.

If you are going to use a hydraulic jack under the trailer you might want to have cups welded at the lift points to keep the jack fro slipping off the frame. 1/4 in. length of pipe a larger diameter than the head of the jack will do the job.

My experience over the years is that the two ton ones, while sounding like they have the capacity really do not for some reason. So, I add to the pile recommending the larger one. I also like a small floor jack better than the bottle jack, if you have the room for it. They make some with a very small footprint, and they are much more stable than a bottle jack.

Personally I use the small aluminum floor jack sold by Northern Freight. On sale now. It has been used a lot....makes changing a tire on the road a quick and safe job. Usually less than 50 dollars.

What do you tow with? What kind of jack does it have?
The jack for my Tundra works just fine for lifting the Airstream in case of a flat. no need for me to carry doubles of tools.
