Husky SuperBrute current drain when off

I just installed a Husky Super Brute 5000 and the instructions stated that the battery should be disconnected when not in use. I contacted tech support and they tell me that the remote receiver is always energized and can drain a fully charged battery in 3 months.
I have solar and my jack battery feed has a Blue Sea thermal breaker so this is not a problem for me. But it could be for some. I saw nothing on our forum warning me although a careful review of others shows some warning on Amazon reviews. Wow! What a bad design.

Three months? The Airstream batteries will be dead from other parasitic draws long before the jack does it.

I never thought about it, but you're right, since it has a remote, the receiver is always on standby.
Yes, a battery disconnect is the best mod I've done to save my sanity. The jack power goes directly to the battery, but since my switch uses the negative cable, it also disconnects the jack.

I made the mistake of troubleshooting the jack one time. I expected to take off the cover and find a motor and gears, maybe some set screws. What I found was a normal looking head outside packed with electronics inside.

But if my Husky 5000 died today, I'd replace it with the same unit!!

I asked Husky how many milliamps and they said they did not have a number. I cannot check for now since I am plugged in to shorepower cooling down for a trip.
