I realize this is an old thread, but for anyone still subscribed to it I wanted to say thanks. I need a new jack this season and of course I was looking for cheaper. I have read the reviews on various sites regarding the <$100 models and I was skeptical of buying one. So, I came to the forums and based on this thread, it seems like Barker is the way to go. Not happy about near $200, but I'll gladly pay that with lots of happy customer backing than $100 for something that barely works or breaks within a few months of use.

After the episode where my nearly new Attwood 3000 got stuck in the up position when hitching my truck, I swore I'd get the biggest and best. Here's the issue. When you're attaching the WD hitch torsion bars, the back saving way is to connect the coupler to the TV, then raise the electric jack until the bars are easy to position.
That will be raising the trailer tongue AND the back of the TV.
When I had mine pretty high, the stock jack refused to retract and I couldn't crank it with the manual crank.
I decided my next tongue jack will be the 5000# Husky Super Brute. (considerable savings can be found by shopping around)

Electric Tongue Jack

I've been very satisfied with our Barker Electric Tongue Jack. It came installed on our '97 Airstream, a model 30 Limited, which was years old at the time. Years later of considerable use I've needed to call Barker twice and customer service has been unbelievable saving me from having to have it repaired at an RV dealership. The repairs in both cases were switches. (Not the same switch).

You just can't find customer service like Barker's any more.
