electric jack foot

My electric jack has a foot that can not be attached to the jack other then just slipping into place when putting weight on the jack and being removed when the trailer is attached to my TV. It has the hole in the bottom and the bolt and lock washer but when it is in place the bolt does not come anywhere near the jack so that the foot can be put on to stay on with the bolt. My previous AS had the foot attached to the jack and there was no need to put it on or take it off when towing the AS. Any one have any idea why this foot does not attach to the jack?????

Post a pix of the "foot". Also, is the hole in center of jack leg threaded? How old is jack? Some had the foot separate by design.

If u want it to stay on, without a bolt, have it welded in a few "tack" welds because when u change the jack, the foot must be removed to replace.

I just recently quit using the jack foot altogether. I got a solid piece of 4x8x12 wood and rest it on that when parked.

Sometimes the separate steel jack stand would stick to the shaft and I had to pound it off. Had the screw on foot, if the w.d. bars were cocked to one side, could not lower it or raise it past them. The scrap wood has no issues, and nothing lost if I leave it behind.
