Electric Jack

May be time for a new Jack. What do I need and what should I pay?

Hi nifty -- This month there's been a behind the scenes project to divide all threads into more specific categories. Take a look at the forums page under Exterior Restoration and you will find a section on Stabilizers & Tongue Jacks to browse. This can be done by the handy DIY-er.

Take note of the inline fuse -- can't say where it'll be in your current setup.

We are still doing the moves, populating the new subforum categories. So come back as older threads get added over the next few days.

I really wish I could say. If not, I would assume you could weld the old ones closed and drill out the new ones. I forgot what drill bit I used when I attached my dual cam HP system, but it went through like butter.

Ah, when our electric died, Camping World (granted, an expensive place) quoted several hundred for a new one. The manual jack ran $39, however. I decided that I could do a whole lot of manual jacking for that savings. No regrets since then.

I replaced my manual jack with a power jack from CW. If I recall it was in the $300 range. I love it and would pay it again.

The holes matched perfectly, I suspect the jacks are standard. Mine attached with the same threaded bolts into the a-frame.
