I've been looking around for an adaptor that I can use on my drill so I can attach it to the crank on the stabilizer to lower and raise the stabilizer when setting up and breaking down camp. I have had no luck finding one.
Where can I buy it?
And any other info so I could order one if needed.

Get a 13/16" sparkplug socket. And a socket adapter for drill of the proper size (3/8" depending on your sparkplug socket). Life on the easy lane...

I think my socket is 3/4 3/8 drive and the adapter for my cordless drill came from Harbor Freight. I do carry it but would rather use my 3/8 drive speed wrench.Its a little more effort but the only thing I have to recharge is ME. It takes up so little space in my curbside compartment,I have to search for it when I need it. Speed wrenches can be obtained from Harbor Freight,Sears,I have found several at our local flee market used for a couple of bucks.

Just an FYI, it's pretty easy to "overtighten" the stabilizers, both going up and down, with the drill. The stabilizer doesn't need to do much more than firmly contact the ground, or retract until it stops.

Good to know that. I was playing with the new ones I just put on the trade wind the other day and it lifted the thing off the ground in half a heart beat. I guess I am lucky the trade wind is light and I didn't tear the stabilizer up. I'm going to have to be careful with that, use a slower speed on the drill and so forth.

Set the clutch on the dril for 1/3 scale, if it has one. Adjust up or down from there.

Good idea on an option, I really don't like that crank type wrench that comes with the stabilizers. Each time I finish setting up my back needs a rest.

Overlander63, I'll keep that in mind and set the torque low on the drill.

I have been using an 18 volt cordless drill to lower and raise Lucy's stabilizers for years. This system works great, and I also use the same 3/4" socket on the drill to set the tension on my Hensley.

The little lug adapter I use to attach the socket to the drill was purchased a Sears. I have also recently purchased a set three of these at an Ace. There was a 1/4', a 3/8", and a 1/2" drive lug in this set.

I use the 1/2" drive to use the heftier 3/4"socket.

When lowering Lucy's stabilizers, I set the torque on the drill at a level that will not make them too tight.

Hi guys/gals,

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a speed wrench? Also if you are going to adjust the stabilizers manually, why wouldn't just use the crank that was supplied with your trailer.

Basically a speed wrench is like your crank,just has an adapter on the end for 3/8 or 1/2 " sockets. Dave

I bought my 3/4" socket with the "nub" on the end at a local RV Parts store. I've been using my 18v Ryobi for raising and lowering the stab jacks for a couple years now and love it. Don't know why I delayed it!

if so that's BS.

they keep DEcontenting these units and UPing the price...

Using a cordless drill for stabilizer duty probably saves about five minutes of set-up and break-down time when camping. Plus you gain the advantage of equal pressure on each of the four stabilizers once the torque on the drill is set the way you want it.

I see you picked up on that tidbit. Yes, they only offer the manual stablizers standard now and maybe the option is there for getting the electric style but I didn't ask about it. So here I sit asking about alternate ways of dealing with the manual ones. My old trailer had the manual stabilizers and they are nice, but sometimes can be a pain in the back.
Your right about Decontenting and UPing the price. There are several revisions of the 2010 Standard Features sheet. I finally had to call JC and have them send me the latest version so I know what actually comes with it.
Looks like my trailer will roll off the line at the end of April. I think they will announce the 2011 in May if I'm not mistaken. Who knows what the standard features sheet will look like for next year. (I tried to find out about 2011 models but A/S is very tight lipped about that info).

in recent history ordering a trailer LATE in the production cycle...

typically was a bonus BECAUSE it included many features to be ADDED for the next model year.

if however that now means the BONUS is DEcontenting...

well that stinks.

limited now appears to mean fewer goodies?

I would suggest getting a cordless impact driver(works better then a drill)

and have your socket tack welded to the adapter. also one thing i didn't noticed was

no one said anything about your stabilizers. make sure there not bent up to bad and

are greased up to make using the driver a lot easier

I'm sorry,I sometimes forget my age. Years ago,cars came without starters.So we cranked.
Please go to the Sears website find tools and enter Model # 44271 and thats a 3/8's drive speed wrench. Its just a little crank that you can use a socket on to speed the loosing or tightening of nuts and bolts by hand without any power source except YOU.
I have several,they come is darned handy.
