Alternative to leveling blocks

I just got done with a bathroom remodel. I have a partial sheet of 1/4" hardibacker. For those of you that don't know what this is, it is equivalent to a thin sheet of concrete with silicon in it for waterproofing behind/under tile floors. I was thinking of making several strips of it to use under my tires for leveling. Any issues that you can think of with this?

YEP.... they come in handy for emergency tire change also.

Scraps of treated 2x10 and plywood work great for me.

I would agree. The concrete board is heavy and thin for this application.

We like the orange leggos (Lynx levelers). We have used them for several years now. We would never go back to the lumber. It was heavy, took up a lot of room, and cracked at the least opportune moment.

I've always wondered if the orange legos weren't bad for tires if left on them for a long time.

I agree with everyone else! The hardibacker wont hold up. Can't beat the yellow Lego type blocks.

The yellow blocks are much easier on tires than the orange blocks. I've used them for almost three years with no noticeable tire wear.

Leveling Blocks

I am kinda partial to my cast aluminum level-it blocks.

I was thinking I'd just dig a hole for the wheels on the high side, and carry just an e-tool and not carry blocks. That puts the steps at a more comfy level on the downhill side, too. Next person to use the site can just put their tires in the same groove. If everyone did this on every camp site, soon we'd all be on the level....

Gringo, wouldn't it be kind of difficult digging out those pads that are either concrete or asphalt? ;-)

Legos Rule!!

Yeah, you're right. I'm going to have to add a chisel and a three pound hammer to the tool box for the concrete that isn't level, and maybe a blowtorch for the bitumen?

Wow. I have the yellow blocks (bought them for the B190), and was planning to switch to wooden boards for the trailer. Maybe we should reconsider!

We did manage to snap one in half, though, but I don't remember how it happened (it involved the weight of the B190, I know that much). It still works fine, we're just careful where we use it.

not too sure how many of the SP and other RV parks would like people digging holes in their sites.

i really can't see myself travelling the countryside digging holes at campsite parking spots.

also- some AS's have 1, some 2 tires per side.

wouldn't want to step into a hole in the dark.

besides - this sounds way too much like 'work' and we all know how much we want to avoid that!

like many others - i carry 1 or 2 bags of the orange legos - easy to pack, easy to use.
