Aistream 2004 Intl CCD Electric jack problem

Tong jack is not operating with battery or with unit connected to land line. It operated previously with another tow vehicle, but not with my towing vehicle. So there maybe several issues. My towing vehicle plug may not work correctly yet when plugged in the lights on Airstream do light up.

Any pointers for the electric jack?

I would appreciate it.

Dany

On our previous trailer, a 22' 2004 the tounge jack failed. The problem was the grounding. I removed the bolts holding the jack to the frame wirebrushed around the bolt holes and reinstalled stainless bolts.

Make sure the jack is free of any load!!!!

I removed and reinstalled one bolt at a time. I hope this will solve your problem.

There's a fuse in the line somewhere.

If it turns out to be a bad ground in addition to following mjayjensen's advise might try adding star lock washer between the jack mounting flange and the trailer frame before re tightening the three mounting bolts. This technique worked for me.

Airstream Jack

O.K that worked, but now I am blowing the fuse when operating the jack, I'll will lubricate the pin and the gear box to see if that does the trick

Have you checked the fuse in the TV? We had a problem with our trailer brakes. We have the electric/hydraulic disc variety that require a power feed. In the Ford F250 there is a 20A fuse (in the fuse panel in the dash) for the power feed in the trailer connector. Since it was out the brakes were feeding off the trailer batteries and over time they went dead. Since we had the TV fuse replaced, we've had no problems.

You might crank it up all the way, by hand if you have to, and lubricate the post shaft too. Mine had gotten some corrosion over the years and was dragging and laboring badly. Greased it up and it operated much more smoothly and at a higher speed. Excessive drag can cause higher amp loads and blown fuses.
