Working with Parbond?

I’ve been experimenting with techniques to apply parbond, but not successfully. For those using Parbond, how do you apply from the tube to get a nice smooth finish?

I use it often. I poke a small pin hole in the tip and use it mostly that way. Colin Hyde said that until you get good at free handing the tube, you should tape off the seams to keep the Parbond in bounds. Good luck, Bubba

I recently used Parbond for the first time and found it near impossible to draw out a long smooth bead of consistent size.

Ended up going about 1/2-1" at a time, pausing, slight push back on the bead placed and then continuing. Looks bumpy at first but the material self levels to an acceptable look.

I run a small bead, then immediately take a cloth wet with mineral spirits and use my fingertip to press it into the seam while wiping off the excess.

I have found that if you move the metal tip forwards and backwards along the seam, it makes a smooth fillet without having to resort to solvents etc. 3 steps forward, two steps back.
