Ace Hardware seems to have it where Lowe's and Home Depot do not around here. They usually carry the one that has some texture to it, not the smooth stuff.

Also HVAC contractors use it if you can find a way to get it from them.

You can also look for Sikaflex or Tremco (who makes Vulkem)

Hi 54,

It's prescription only. Ask your doctor or health professional.

I've never had luck finding it over the counter.
Always mailorder or in person at Jackson Center.

Not much help on a weekend, but it is also available from professional supply houses. We have one in NC called Guranteed Supply that keeps in on hand. It is quite often used by metal roof contractors or window contractors. I usually buy mine by the case for other projects and just divert a tube or two to the Airstream(s) as needed. My local Airstream dealer stocks it, Vintage trailers has it in stock and ships pretty quickly, as well as Jackson Center. I have been told you shouldn't need more than 3-4 tubes to do and entire trailer but you can't prove that by me. Also you can save a partial tube of Vulkem by wrapping it in plastic wrap and freezing it, then thaw it out before you need it again.

I guess it's the same reason that every time I need something for the trailer it isn't available at a Home Depot or something.

After a while, you develop a stock pile of rivets (all kinds), connectors, sheet aluminum, various goo, screws, toilet valves, plumbing fittings, light bulbs, brake parts,
draw handles, slides, catches, etc.

What do you think I keep in my tow vehicle ?

I found it in stock at Fastenal while shopping for rivets. They had both kinds, 635 the quick set and 636 regular. It is sold uder the trade name TremPro. The Fastenal website lists store all over California.

I found Vulkem 616 at Dixieline Lumber, but I don't know how it compares to the 635/636 line. -jd.
