Where buy Sikaflex721?

JC is out of stock. Jamestown requires me to buy a case of 24, whereas I only need three tubes. Any other online sources known to all?

According to email received 8/22/11 from A/S store, Sikaflex no longer manufactures "white", however, they soon will offer AdSeal on the store website to replace it. I'm not familiar with the AdSeal product - hopefully, it is the equivalent to Sikaflex.

Greg,

Where are you using it?

I used 221 grey on the skylight with good results.

Do you need the self-leveling?

Bob

Robert,
Yes, I'm using it to replace skylights with Maxims, just ordered from TX. Do you feel the 221 would be just as good, i.e., without the UV inhibitor?

Greg,

Yes I do, but it's not my opinion thats important....It's what Andy sent when I got the new skylight. It's applied under the SL mounting lip and not exposed to direct sunlight. I had purchased the Sika construction polyurethane,( I used it on the black tank vent), to use with the new SL but figured Inland Andy must have a good reason for including the 221.

OK, I'll go looking for 221. Like you, I trust Andy's advice and really appreciate his contributions here on AIR. THANKS!

White Trempro

Just a thought and if you need it badly, like now........

If you don't insist on having Sikaflex you can get white Trempro 635, also commonly referred to as Vulcum, at Fastenal. They have stores all over and my local one does not stock 635 in any color but they get it for me usually within 2 to 3 days.

Perhaps, I'll be persecuted for blasphemy . However, this is what I used for my Maxims. It comes in several colors. I used grey.

Big Stretch® - It won't crack—it just stretches!

Too bad that the 721 is no longer available. I installed a new Maxim skylight last year, and used Sikaflex 721. during the installation, and this year when touching up the seal, and re-sealing some other penetrations.

I like 721 because it is easy to work with -- you can use your finger (dipped in water) to level and spread the material. Can you do the same with 221?

Good luck -- ww absolutely love our Maxim Skylight -- I have no worries about leaks, and it performed great on those 100+ degree days this summer.

Guaranteed Supply in SC, NC, and VA sell Sika products. They are wholesale, but do sale individual tubes of caulk if you walk in to their sales counter.

Grammar Police That's "do sell" not "do sale" individual tubes.

Trempro 635 is polyurethane based, unlike silicone and other types of calking stuff.
At Lowes, looking around, I notice that all of the construction adhesives are polyurethane based.
Hmm.
So my current theory is that the thing that makes Trempro 635 and others like it work so well is that they are a combination sealer and adhesive in one.
So I go to where they have the marine calking stuff. Guess what? Polyurethane based "sealant and adhesive". Bingo.

Dear grammar police... it's--"my current theory is the thing that makes yada yada yada"
Not -"is that the things that makes yada yada yada"

By the way caulking is spelled caulking not calking... just saying!

The current theory sentence is constructed correctly. Look again, read slow and pronounce each word.

Caulking.. yes..
