What to use to keep window seals/rubber soft.

Hi guys.

Question, What product do you use/recommend, to keep the rubber around the windows and lights from getting hard?

hi rick

the factory uses a specific silicone i recall it's spelled slip1cone....i have a can and will post a pic when i find it....

any silicone spray that is safe for rubber would work...for example napa has one that is used for treadmills, rubber seals and trim....while they've also got one that isn't to be used on rubber parts....

303 Aerospace Protectant

We used 303 Aerospace Protectant which my husband bought at a spa/hot tub dealer. It can be used on rubber, winyl, fiberglass, tires, plastic and leather. 100% Prevention of UV caused problems. Instructions for rubber seals say to spray on and let sit for 5 min. then wipe dry. Seemed to do a great job for us and costs about $8.00 for a 8 oz. spray bottle.

403 Protectorant

I also agree with the post about using 303. It comes highly recommended by fabricators of rubber products as well as leather. It has the ability to reduce deterioration due to harmful sunlight wavelengths.

Fantastic Vent also recommends 303 so that is what I started using on all rubber seals.

I use a 3M product called Silicone Lubricant Plus #08877. This product is developed for the rubber seals on the window tracks and around the windows. I believe it is also available at Vintage Trailer Supply
