What the sealant?

HEEEEEELP!

we have a leak & since we are living in our aluminum tent, need to fix FAST, but we are not sure what to use to get previous sealant off & what to use to re-seal? (SEE PIC) it's the area around the hatch where it attaches to the outer shell. We can't go somewhere to get it done, so must figure out how to get up there to fix (so any idea in that dept is also helpful)

forecast calls for 2dry days then rain again... UGH

What you need is "Vulkem 116." I'm not sure if you have a rubber gasket or not. That old stuff is a bearcat to remove; I've used a thin chisel and my Dremel grinder to remove the rest. Any solvent will work to clean the surface before applying the new sealer, carefull to avoid spilling any solvent. One more thing: BE CAREFULL on that ladder!
