Vulkem storage tip
From past experiences using Vulkem I found out that you could not store the opened tube even with a cap on because the Vulkem would cure in the tube in a short period of time. About 3 years ago someone, I don't remember who, told me that to store Vulkem just put the opened tube with a cap on into a zip lock bag and then put it in the freezer. Well that tube of Vulkem has been in the freezer for 3 years and I pulled it out yesterday to repair a leak. I was in a hurry so I put the plastic bag and Vulkem in a bucket of hot water and in about 15 minutes it was ready to use. the flow was like you had just open the tube. So I finished my little repair and put it back in the freezer to be ready for the next time.

Yeah! Glad that worked for you...that's what we do and only rarely have had to explain to non-Airstreamers "what is that?" in our freezer ~

Excellent idea. Can I transfer small amounts into empty syringes and freeze them separately in order to thaw & use small amounts at a time for rivets etc?
Thanks for the idea

I've tried freezing small syringes and it doesn't work as well as freezing the whole cartridge. Might be because it absorbs enough moisture during the tranfer to start the hardening process.

As long as I don't throw out her ice cream, and if it's well wrapped in a freezer bag, she doesn't care.
It's her Airstream too!
